These SMS Messaging Terms (the "SMS Terms") describe the text messages Tembo sends and how you can manage your messaging preferences. They apply in addition to our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. By providing your mobile number to a business that uses Tembo, or by toggling SMS on in your customer portal, you consent to receive the messages described below.
Program description
Tembo is a field-service management platform. Service-based businesses (the "Business") use Tembo to coordinate work and to communicate with their customers. Tembo sends SMS messages to end-customers on behalf of the Business in two categories:
- Transactional messages related to a specific job or visit — for example, visit reminders, crew assignment notifications, "on the way" updates, and job-complete confirmations.
- Marketing messages such as quote follow-ups, where permitted by your consent.
How you consent
You opt in to receive SMS from Tembo (sent on behalf of a Business) when:
- You enable SMS notifications in the customer portal at gettembo.app/portal/profile, or
- You provide your mobile number when accepting a quote or scheduling a visit and indicate that SMS is your preferred channel, or
- You provide your mobile number to the Business in a way that they have configured to trigger SMS notifications about your job (the Business is responsible for collecting and recording that consent).
Consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. Your mobile carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies based on your service activity. A typical job generates between one and ten messages over its lifecycle. You may receive more messages during periods of active scheduling and fewer when no job is in progress.
Quiet hours
Outbound SMS pauses outside 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time to respect your quiet hours. Messages queued during quiet hours are sent on the next morning's send window.
Help
Text HELP or INFO at any time to receive support contact information. Our automated reply is:
Tembo customer support: reply with your question or call us. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
You can also email support@gettembo.app or call +1 (888) 205-8165 for help with your messaging preferences.
Opt out
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying with any of the following keywords:
STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT
When we receive an opt-out keyword from your number, we immediately stop sending all messages — both transactional and marketing — to that number across every Business that uses Tembo. You can also turn SMS off at any time in the customer portal at gettembo.app/portal/profile.
Opt back in
If you change your mind, reply with any of the following keywords to resume receiving messages:
START, UNSTOP, YES
You can also re-enable SMS in the customer portal at any time.
Message and data rates may apply
Standard message and data rates may apply to each message sent or received, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Tembo does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may. Contact your mobile carrier for details on your plan.
Supported carriers
Tembo supports SMS delivery to mobile numbers on most major U.S. carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
Information we collect through the messaging program is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not share mobile numbers, message content, or opt-in data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
